So it is really, really hard for me to say this, but unless some brave soul would like to take up the mantle of MiniMerlin for 2012, it looks like we're not going to have one. I've been holding off on making a decision, hoping that my life would calm down enough that we could just have one a little later than usual, around late April or May, but it looks like that isn't going to happen. Between my new job and training and moving, my life is so up in the air right now that I honestly have no idea where I'll be in a few months. And the way all this stress is affecting my health means I don't really relish the idea of adding more stress on top of what I've already got.

I'm so sorry to let you guys down. I absolutely LOVE MiniMerlin, seeing you all makes me SO INCREDIBLY HAPPY, it is literally the HIGHLIGHT OF MY YEAR. It kills me to think I won't get to have that this year. This fandom has given me SO MUCH, and I relish this little chance to give back and add to the love. Believe me, if I thought there was any way I could do this without turning myself into a nervous wreck, I would do it. But it's just not in the cards this year, unless you all are willing to wait until, like, September or October.

If there's anyone in fandom who would like to take up the mantle this year, I would be more than happy to offer any help I can, in the form of notes and things from past years. If you're considering it, it is an AMAZING, fun thing to do if you enjoy planning parties and such, but just know this: It is a LOT of work, WAY more than you'd think at first. I was unemployed the year I planned it all on my own, and I still struggled to get it done in time, though realistically part of that is because I had limited internet access for about a month of the time I was planning.

Again, you guys, I'm sorry. You have no idea how much I wish circumstances were different, but I hope you understand.

I'm sorry that your life is so stressful! :(

That being said, I'm in the Philly area, so I could probably do quite of bit of planning, etc. I've never been to MiniMerlin though (not for lack of trying), and actually any con, official or not, so I'm not quite sure how things would go. If someone who's been before wants to team up, I'd be happy to do that!

I'm sorry you've got all of this stressful stuff going on right now, bb! I can only hope things start to look up soon. *hugs*

And, like reinventweather, I am also in the Philly area, and would be happy to help organize MiniMerlin 2012! I had such fun at the last one, and would love to help make that happen again. I've never planned an entire con, just con events for wincon, but I think if a few of us work together, we should be able to pull it off!

I wish I could help but this year is really rough. Hopefully someone will take up the mantle.

I have not had experience with organizing a con, but I've been to minimerlin before and I'm certainly willing to help with planning.

Hope things settle down for you soon.

Aw, when life is that rough you never ever have to apologize for not being able to pull something huge and spectacular together like MiniMerlin. You've done a great job in the past, and I had a blast last year, but it's okay to pass the mantle on.

Best of luck with all the craziness and give yourself a rest whenever you can!

MMC 2012
Ras, thanks for letting us know what is going on. You are amazing to do all you did for MMC, but real life has to come first.

I am in the Philadelphia area so if someone wants to contact me about putting together something please let me know. I am holding some decorations that Ras asked me to keep until 2012 so she wouldn't have to carry them home. I also promised Ras that I would make con badges with the con logo, names, etc., so they would look like the ones you get at other cons. I will still do that.

And yes, of course I would wait until the autumn. That option is a good one as well. The weather here in the fall is very nice, too.
